Welcome. We're so glad you're here.
In 2010, two friends started dreaming and praying about a planting a church in downtown Durham. That dream became a reality when an initial group committed to meeting in June 2013 for weekly Bible study, prayer, and discussion on the church. We officially launched our first public worship service in January 2014, and God has been so gracious to us!
And by the grace of God, we have experienced tremendous growth. What began as a prayer, then a group of 40 people, has turned into something so much larger.
As we look ahead, we know God has called us to be a church that loves its place and seeks His glory. We are hopeful to be a place where those asking questions, those who might say they are not connected to a church, would feel welcome. We continue to seek to be a diverse community that reflects the beautiful makeup of our city. And we are hoping to be a community that seeks justice and mercy.

We hope you'll feel at home here. We would love for you to join us for our weekly worship service or attend any of our events throughout the week. We want you to feel comfortable visiting for the first time. To help you plan your visit, we've answered a few questions you might have.
What happens during a weekly worship service?
We sing songs together, we pray both privately and corporately for our city and one another, we hear expository preaching as we work through books or portions of books of the Bible.

What type of music should I expect?
Our worship music is a blend of contemporary and gospel songs, as well as traditional gospel-rooted hymns. Our philosophy for worship is to be cross-cultural, biblically sound, and formational. While styles may vary, our desire is for worship to be pleasing to God while drawing people of all walks nearer to the Cross.
